Bowlker, Charles. Bowlker’s Art of Angling. Greatly Enlarged and Improved; Containing Directions for Fly-Fishing, Trolling, Bottom Fishing, Making artificial Flies etc. etc. Ludlow, Procter & Jones, 1826.
[The well-known book about angling with artificial flies, originally written by Richard Bowlker, was first published in 1758. His son, Charles Bowlker, published under his own name two extended editions of the same work in 1774 and (posthumously) 1780. One of these, strongly edited and extended by an unknown hand, appeared in 1826. It is this edition that Pound owned, in a 1829 printing.] (Hesse 83).
